Need help with Yamaha, Holton, Conn French horns

I am looking to buy a good used double French horn. Those three brands are high on my list of good manufacturers.

My question is, why are there so many different models, particularly for Yahama? I look on eBay and see like five different model names available. Why so many and what are the differences? I went to the Yamaha website but they only talk about the horns they're currently manufacturing.

Any information would be appreciated. If anyone has the knowledge, I'd love a list of all the different models and what makes one different from the other. Whew!

Yeah, Yamaha needs to cut down it's product line. At least it isn't as bad as Selmer which has way way way too many lines of instruments.
