Hey Claude there is nothing wrong with playing off the melody, a lot of great players made there names doing just that..
That sounded just fine.

Very nice take Mike . The echo and reverb effects work well for this tune, can hear it's a style you like. A nice edgy high in the end!

Here's my first ham-fisted attempt. Will practice this one outside for a while and re-record it sometime.

Same here Mark (regretting posts sometimes)! You mentioned it was your 'first ham-fisted attempt' and for that it was fine, but I know you can do better after getting more familiar with the song .

So, mark, when you say "practice outside" does that mean practice in the fresh air or practice going "outside" on the tune?

I thought I would try this tune again without going up the octave since I kind of liked Tom's version that he did that way. Other than some fluffed low Bbs I got through it, but I'm not sure I've progressed from my earlier version. It is still a fun tune though.
