Got it at a garage sale many years ago. I know its by William Claxton the only title I can find is "Times Square, New York City, 1960". Its on a Editions Du Desastre post card, not a original print (bummer). Just wondering.

How hard can it be? You only play one note at a time.
links not going to ANYTHING that looks like ANYONE busking to me....
Is this the pic?
No idea who it is, but it fits the rest of your description "Times Square, 1960"
Sanborn was in a quick busking scene in the 1988 movie "Scrooged" with Bill Murrey, along with Paul Shaffer, Miles Davis and Larry Carlton.

Could this be a William Claxton photo, maybe? Not sure who it is playing the sax.

Yeah, that's the pic, cleger. Don't know what happened to mine, was working when I posted. 1945 would make him 15 in 1960, so don't think that's him.

Look at that guy's hands closely. He doesn't even look like a real sax player. Probably a photographer's model.

Life is too short for long tones
My wife, whose ears I trust, said that my sound is much fuller, richer, more powerful and resonant on this set up.
... but really folks... my wife said, " It sounds like a saxophone ".
That guy looks like the "indie" actor, Ben Carruthers, who was in the first John Cassavettes film, "Shadows", who played a beatnik type & later in "The Dirty Dozen"
Cool looking cat, didn't live very long, unfortunately
A quick search on imdb tells me I am correct & bingo, here's your picture w/him identified:

Ding, ding, ding!! Nice work, Ob. That whole series must be posed, I saw the woman in the background of one of the other pics. Hmm.
