Jazz Jams in Los Angeles

Does anyone have any experience with the World Stage Thursday night jam session? How about the Blue Whale Tuesday night jam? Any other tips for jazz jams in LA?

Well I don't know about those or in LA, but down in Orange County in Fullerton, they have Steamers Jazz Club. Every sunday night they've got open jam session (2 dollar cover) which is pretty fun. They've got a house band, but usually enough people show up to switch in.

There's a jazz jam in Little Tokyo. First monday and second tuesday of every month. I THINK. I'll get the dates for sure if you're really interested.

I don't know about Monday, but there is one the second tuesday of every month at a place called: 2nd Street Jazz. Led by Mike Parlett. I know they did it last month, but you should make sure it's happening before you get in your car.
