Squeaky!

I just received several different MPC's to try out on my Tenor. Several of these are Jumbo Javas; T55, T75, and T95. I never squeak on my other MPC's, but I am having a difficult time with all of these Jumbo Javas. I am using V16 2, 2.5, and 3 reeds all with the same effect.

I need some ideas as to what I need to do. I really like the sound of all of these pieces, especially the T75.

OK. So its the brand of reed? I would not have though of that. I will purchase some different ones, including a Fibracell. I have heard of those, but never planned on buying one until now. But I know that there Jumbo Java players using reeds that don't have a this problem. I was hoping there might be some advice as to what I could do to cut down the squeaks.

yeah, my guess would be that maybe you embochure is a bit too tight for the MPCs you received.

I'm not any kind of specialist in MPCs, but I had this serious problem with the "squeaky!" sounds when playing with the mpc that came with my sax.
There are MPCs that squeak too easily, especially if you are playing with soft reeds and using a very tight embochure.

I believe that jazz MPCs have a tendency to squeak, I mean buzzier MPCs.
I once played with a selmer MPC and it was a delight, the sound was so easy to produce and it would never squeak. But its tone was too mellow.

if I were you, I would try to play very carefully for some time, not blowing too hard or bitting too much.
and I would also try using harder reeds, as well as softer ones.
experimenting is always a good idea.

I hope my words will help you, cheers! :blob::bounce::blob::bounce::blob::bounce:
