Talk about having some guts to the sound, but NOT overplaying and pushing the horn. He sounds great. That's my ideal sound right there.
He gets funky too!

Good stuff! I'm just glad to see a bald tenor player without the stupid hat.![]()

if he can get this sound through youtube imagine to hear him live..
Great links, cheers for posting them.
There is some wonderful guitar playing and vocals going on there in addition to that fine horn blowing too.

Great playing ..... you know to listen up when the guy in the bar band is playing a balanced action !
Nice playing...but what size opening and what reed???
;-)
He doesn't have that over the edge bright thin sound like many players in this style have. Great!!!
Corrupting the minds of everyone, everywhere.
This guy is Freakin Amazing. If anyone knows what he may have recorded and if its something that one can purchase anyplace I would definitely be interested. Would love to get intouch with this guy.. Love his sound, his style and everything that I have heard him on thus far.
He's got some great clips on YouTube. He has the Link sound I've always worked for--but never got. Fat and full, with some edge, but still ultra focused and with a lot of guts.
This guy is just dripping with soul - many thanks for the introduction!
I checked out about all that I could on youtube. Now, its on to recordings that hes done. Did some searching on him and he does have a pretty impressive list of credentials on the American Music scene too. Even if some of them are not some peoples preferences, he seems to get around a little. Thanks for the enlightening. Awesome tenor tone. Great control and command over all the registers of the horn, and hes also the son of a very famous jazz musician, so that probably explains it. He is, according to what I have read, totally self taught on the instrument.
