    Default Charlie Mariano setup

    I've been listening to more Charlie lately and I'm wondering what his equipment setup was? Kind of around the 2003 "Deep in a Dream" period...great stuff.

    I think when I saw him in Bonn in 2000 Charlie played a Mk VI. His mouthpiece looks like a Lakey to me:

    Yep, I'd say that looks like a Lakey. There's not many people I've heard sound reasonably good on one of those things, let alone get a great sound like Charlie. There oughtta be a law that you can't play alto until you've first listened to Charlie Mariano.
