Hi everyone, I am interested in an older model Super 20, or Silver sonic, I would like it to be from 295 up to 340. I would like the pearl keys, Silver neck and possibly silver bell. If anyone knows of one let me know. This will be a backup horn. Thanks Joe

Y'know, it doesn't matter anymore. They're both killers, and in the right hands can do each other's job admirably.
Just two questions: Where's the Bar located relative to the stage, and does the band get a discount?

I just joined the forum and the first thing i wanted to do was to join the Super 20 fan club. I play a 599xxx Silversonic Super 20 (even though its a high serial # I think it plays great) with a Link STM 8 and love every second of it. I've had the horn for 4 years now and have had no trouble with it since the first day I got it.

Hello super 20 fan! I have a update for you!

I've found a full pearl silversonic and bought it from the original owner who bought it in 1956. Everywhere on the net, it's said that the serie 2 (or full pearl) S20 ends a 340XXX. The one I just bought is a 343XXX!! so maybe it's one of the last full pearl silversonic ever built. Did anyone have a full pearl with a higher serial than 340XXX ?
    Thank for your help!

I sold both my brass and silversonic tenors last year and have been missing that Super 20 sound ever since. Luckily, I managed to sell another horn and a few mouthpieces and just got myself a Cleveland 394XXX silversonic one with a black/grey gator-skin case. So, I am back in the club, folks.

With full pearls, gold bell inlays and silver bell and neck, I think you have got yourself the finest of King Super 20. If I am not mistaken, this was King's anniversary model, and there are not many of them out there. Saxman Pete and others can confirm this.

just picked up a Super 20, circa 1954. Wow, big sound and great action. Actually, it sounds almost exactly the same as my '47 Zephyr. Which is a good thing.

Not sure what them other posters are so excited about. Looks like scrap metal to me. That said, could you PLEASE POST SOME MORE PICS?!? Preferably high resolution.

Here is some more pictures! I used it on a gig yesterday and it's a real player horn!! My main sax is a early 60' MK VI and this silversonic has a bigger and more complex sound. This kind of sax as the character to make you play differently...

Lucky you, Jumasa! I will say it again: This is probably one of two most beautiful horns with the best keywork ever made - the other one being a Selmer SBA or Mark VI, depending on what your taste is.

Congrats and thanks for the pictures! What a joy to behold. Healthy attitude you have got there as well. If it were mine, I would be afraid to take it anywhere.
