Doubler's question
Have any of you clarinet doublers played on Runyons? Which models? I 'm trying to find a mouthpiece with a core classical tone but more volume ( think Jimmy Hamilton ). The write-ups sound like Custom/Custom Jazz might be it - but then there's Finess and good ol' model 22... Thanks for your inputs.

if you need more volume -the jazz custom is the one you want. a regular clarinet lig wont fit and you may not like the one supplied with the mpc. i use a luyben plastic lig on mine and it works well.

I have tried the 88 and found it competent but undistinguished - the finish was a bit rough and I have several pieces that play better (Vandoren, Brilhart and a handmade one from Weinberg) - however it does have Runyon's usual plus point of being *easy* to play. The Jody Jazz clarinet piece imparts a lot more edge and would be good for solo work or any place you want to cut through; classical it ain't.
