Question Lenny Pickett and the Borneo Horns

Some where along the line I have lost my copy of Lenny Pickett and the Borneo Horns. This record contains some of the maddest saxophone playing imaginable. Anybody know how I can reaquire this music?

I agree this is a GREAT album.

I sold my copy quite some time ago. It is interesting, but nothing I would regularly listen to. It's amazing that, in all these years, that is the only solo album Lenny has done.

there is an interesting interview of Lenny on you-tube and he talks about the origin of the group (borneo horns) and why there was only one album. He is such an amazing player and has had tremendous success, with both Tower of Power and SNL, yet he loves to write and play music which is far from commercially viable. Lenny and George Garzone are two players that I hold in highest esteem for this quality.

Lenny Pickett is the man. No one kills me in every phrase like that. The alto guy has a great tone too.

FYI, I just realized that a Dennis Chambers album called Planet Earth from 1995 has three Borneo Horns tracks on it (not from the original album). Worth checking out if you're into the Borneo Horns!

In addition to the Borneo Horns tracks there is some great playing by numerous cats all over that Planet Earth album. I think it is actually a 2006 release. A lot of it can be heard on YouTube although the audio quality suffers

Right - Kenny Garrett and Bob Malach are soloists on the other tracks.
