    My tech measured the headjoint, it was 24.71 mm.....I have no idea why the curved would be an issue, just something I was told....

    The person I talked to at Carolyn Nussbaum said some altos were not designed to use a curved headjoint....she said it could have issues with intonation...

    Books don't teach you how to improvise, they give you vocabulary...and save a lot of time....I have about half the ones the op mentioned...and I'd add Yusef Lateef's Repository of Scales....
