Not easy to find, but if you can find one, you´re not going to regret,
Since I found mine I play it exclusively as my main soprano,...

My friend Andy & George Garzone

I just came from a local jazz club where my friend Andres Hayes played with his quartet.
Excellent music played by excellent musicians.
I got his last CD "El Imperio de las Luces".

    Re: Soundman binaural dummy recording

I agree with Benny about Mike, but I think Mike is not only the "most musically interesting cat on SOTW", I think we can extend it to the UK too.
  5. Re: I sitll think Tom Scott is one fo the funkiest Tenors around

He played clarinet & saxello with Don Ellis, a real killer on saxello:

    My offshore friend.

Almost 5 years ago I had the chance to buy 2 mouthpieces here on SOTW from Michael Ward.

It was my first buy here, and because he is from UK and I am from Argentina, my first thought was: "maybe I...

    Re: Identifying Selmer soprano piece

    Both are the same pieces.
The classic vintage is also round chamber but has an art deco design on the Selmer logo, and fluted sides on the exterior, you can see it on the Theo Wanne link.

    Re: Old King wooden clarinet

Update: I am using now a modern Buffet piece. Mike has sent me 2 of them and the wooden original Buffet.
The volume has changed a lot, but the sound not so much. More volumen but with a sweet sound....
  13. Re: Uebel gold (yellow) aluminium flute + piccolo

Mine is aluminum grey but I believe it has some kind of layer over, maybe an anodizing process like Milandro showed here.
Beautiful pair brasspoland, I would love to try a piccolo, my Uebel is a...
  14. Re: Uebel gold (yellow) aluminium flute + piccolo

There is a model with a yellow coat or yellow lacquered. Both models have a coat over the aluminum, one is clear (more common), the other one is yellow, like the one you can see here in YouTube....

Re: Review on Dolnet Belair 70´s soprano

Hi Matt. I think it´s a Bel Air closer to 1950 (but I can´t say it for sure), it has hexagonal spatulas on C/D#, ribbed post mounting and a paper roll engraving design.
As I can see on the added...

Re: Which soprano saxophone do you like?

Blacktitanium: I think the use of the word Stencil, came from the paper used to transfer a design (in this case engravings but it´s used on tatoos too) to the instrument to be engraved. So usually a...
