    Re: "Whiplash" the movie

My conclusion is that there's too little data. Regardless, it's inexcusable for teachers to throw things at students.

Re: WTB: Anything Doc Tenney Refaced!

I've got a Tenney "The Desmond" alto mouthpiece for sale - check the link in my signature. Actually I'm not sure it's even refaced but he did put his signature on it so I assume he at least measured...

    Re: RIP: John-Edward Kelly, 1958-2015

I had not even noticed. Given the circumstances, I certainly understand. What I don't get is the media silence. Perhaps obituaries will be forthcoming.

  9. Re: Des anyone know why Arno Bornkamp wears the Headband?

Whatever the reason, the heavy padding and headband sure do give him the look of a sax super-ninja.

Looks like he's got a mute of some kind stuck in his bell.

Re: Hard rubber mouthpiece - back to black

All this talk of sauteed, simmered, poached, and broiled is making me hungry.

    Re: Meyer 5M vs 6M

I recommend you buy a 5M and a 6M. Select the approximate reed strength to match the 5m. Use the reeds that run a little soft on the 6m and the ones that run a little hard on the 5m.

I saw that, but it does not have a citation to the source of that information, nor even a precise date of death.

    Re: RIP: John-Edward Kelly, 1958-2015

Can anyone confirm this?? I can't find anything on the web, including on Kelly's or the Arcos Chamber Orchestra's website.

If true, what a horrific loss. He would have been only 56 or 57 years...
  18. Re: Supposed Rudy Wiedoeft's C-Melody on eBay

Looks like pretty good proof to me that Wiedoeft owned it, at least for a minute, unless someone doctored the ad reprint, which would be pretty easy to check, or he took advantage of the 5 day trial...

[eBay] Re: Why is this Q pissing me off so much ?

If you feel that strongly about it, ignore the question and move on. I think I would. What's he expect you to do, disassemble the horn to take a pictures for him? Seems like a pretty stupid request,...
