    Re: My soprano sob story

A repad doesn't mean quality pads were used when the work was done. Ask any tech, using cheap pads will kill a good horn. Invest in a good set of roo pads are something simular and you'll be fine. ...

    Re: Yamaha or Yanagisawa

Yanagisawa is the right choice unless you find an original early purple label yas-62 in good shape.

    Re: Bleeding lower lip

Synthetic reeds are notorious for this problem. I play Hahn reeds and they too sometimes have sharp rails. I take some very fine wet-dry sandpaper to the raised areas and smooth them out sanding in...

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaning and Lacquer Peeling

The shop I work in has an ultra-sonic and I have never seen that. We keep ours at 85 degrees, so it doesn't qualify as a hot bath, just lukewarm

    Re: La Symphonique Tenor?

Judging from the front neck tightening screw, that was made by Max Keilwerth in Germany. The horn will need pads though, so don't pay too much. I owned a Max Keilwerth and it was a good horn. ...

    Re: 1951 PanAm

Hello George and welcome to the jungle.
