Re: Unreadable websites...who loves 'em?

Andy, overall, I like your web site design. But I too think the menu text is too small, and something's not right with the framing (or whatever it's called) - some of the text falls out, even though...

    Re: Unreadable websites...who loves 'em?

I'm pretty sure he's trying to build his rep. After all, he says he is "WISER THAN ANY DAMN MAN OR GOD WHO EVER EXISTED". And he's got to shout it because he doesn't have much time: "YOU CAN"T KILL...

    Re: Tip opening control question

To me, the difference is that a large tip opening allows for a more open embouchure, which lets me avoid biting. The reason is that with a large opening, you need a softer reed to achieve the same...
  5. Re: Durability of Fibracell baritone reeds?

The usability of Légères on different mouthpieces is indeed something peculiar. Another user on this forum can't seem to make them work on his mouthpieces with thin rails, although I certainly can on...
  6. Re: Durability of Fibracell baritone reeds?

Now, I've never tried the Fibracells, but from what I understand from people here they are considerably less durable and inconsistent than Légères. I get a LOT more than 30 hours of playing out of...

There are some nerves in them too — otherwise, kissing would be no fun.

    Re: Improved Legere versus V12

If you're normally using Marca Jazz', you should definitely try Studio Cuts. Légère standards are more like Vandoren Blue Box.

I actually went from Marca Jazz to Légère Studio Cut on tenor. Love...

Re: Please remove the Evony Ads

Well Gary, I guess you're used to being exposed to heavier stuff, having lived in Germany and all.

    Re: help with synthetic reeds

I tried the Carbons, but didn't like them at all. My favorite is the Légère Studio cut.

Sticky: Re: joe allard and tongue position

I don't think that it's about as much about airfoil (providing 'lift') as much as about simply creating speed by compressing the airflow through a small space at the top of the mouth.
Yeah, I guess those Norwegian word constellations may seem odd to an anglophone... :)

Don't know what's with the video. I've tried from a few different computers, and it seems to work well. It's...

    Such as generate lift?
Yes! :D Or to increase air speed, so as to generate more air support. And if there is one thing of which we can't get too much, it's air support!

    Re: Legere comparison recording

I play Légère 2,25s on a JodyJazz HR* 8* (in other words, soft reed, open mouthpiece) on tenor with good results. I play Légères exclusively. No hassle, all sound! :)
