    Thank you Mr. Howard, that solved it! And I had to get the pad replaced once and that is what the repair technician called the key. I just wanted to sound hip.

    Id say its a viable option. if you look in the charlie parker omnibook theres plenty of licks parker uses on the blues esp that highlight the 4th (11th).

    I do it too. I think it makes passages with C# and G# much easier but I find I almost always use the C# key to play G#. I think it makes the sound a little fuller.
