Thank you Carl. Lp
Rebuild is complete. Music Medic white roos with domed brass resos and blue steel springs. Tight core, selmerish qualities, plays in tune although the horn is kind of finicky with mouthpieces. Lp
In your opinion what makes a tenor moutpiece friendly or finicky? Lp
Thanks Ben. Now, anyone got hold of one of those newer Degradi pieces? What did you think? Lp
Thanks. Nice clip. Now for those that have both of Ben's pieces can you contrast the tonal characteristics of the two? I've listened to the Degradi clips and the Neff recording. I would like some...
Anyone have a sound clip of the 10E? Lp
You guys playing the Allen pieces, are you still feeling the love? Lp
I own a T900. The horn looks like it suffers from leprosy or melanoma! It has lots of player wear and lacquer degradation. It's so feaking ugly it's beautiful. Lp
Yeah, best to disassemble before removing the lacquer. Just another option for your consideration. If you disassemble the horn take it to a radiator shop and soak it in their cleaning vat. That stuff...
fine looking sop. looks great naked too! Lp
Jumbo Java for sure. It will give you everything you are looking for and a whole lot more. Lp
Yeah, Votaw tool is the only source I've been able to find. I agree a bit on the expensive side. Does anyone know if Selmer screw in bumpers will fit the Yanagisawa guards? Lp
I need four screw in brass adjustable felt holders for a Yanagisaw tenor sax. I know I can purchase new, thought I would try here first. Many thanks in advance! Lp
I have a local very talented tech giving it the makeover. Charlie quoted me a very reasonable price for a repad. Thought it best to have it all completed locally. Lp
Wow, great horns. #1 is a gem. Good luck with the sales! Lp
Kudos to Charles Grey aka Greysax. Great man to do business with. Horn, packing, shipping, communication all top shelf. Thanks for your honesty --------- I appreciate it. Lp
Ha! I'm vintage and 3 of my tenors are vintage. With the exception of the Yani. The ergos, weight and over all feel of the horn Are great. Even with the old dried up pads the horn would play top to...
My tenors are all vintage. I recently purchased a 92-93 vintage tenor from Charlie Grey aka Grey Sax. The horn overall was mechanically sound, original pads, one small ping and a very slight post...
Wonder how they stack up with the Greg Wier pieces? I can't imagine why a vintage material would effect performance seeing the interior would be identical to modern HR blanks, but then again I don't...
