    Hi Steve
I'm a sound engineer of some 30 years & I stumbled upon your post from 2005 regarding the perceived pitch difference between your ears, having suffered the same issue about 2 months back. The syndrome is known as diplacusis & I can find very limited info regarding it. It is quite a worry & disturbing, as you know, for those of us involved with music. Did your diplacusis ever resolve? Any info that you may have discovered would be really welcome.
    Many thanks

    Hi Steve
I was interested in your clip of the Mouthpiece Cafe NY alto piece, as it had been recommended to me by Michael Ward, but I'd never heard it.
Can I please briefly say what I'm trying to achieve and ask for a quick comment on its suitability?

I want to play mainly ballads with a warm, focused sound. Currently playing a JodyJazz DV #6...nice, but a bit bright for this sort of music.
Reeds used are usually Rico Jazz Select 2S, about as hard as I can manage with a 0.078" tip.
I doubt I'll ever be wanting lots of bright, fast stuff or altissimo...I'm too old and started too late!
I shall never be very good, but would like all possible help from the mouthpiece....and to have fun!

Other suggested pieces were a Morgan 6M, a JJDV NY, and a Freddie Gregory MkII.

Your input would be much appreciated, as you have a sound i would have liked to aspire-to (if I'd started 30 years sooner...I was too impatient then!)

    Thanks and best regards
