Well, Stephen, it's amazing how how many clarinet player's want to argue with a tech. Your comments on oiling were right on and I wanted to thank you for posting them. I guess if people want problems that will cost them overhauls, crack pinning and banding they'll learn the hard way. I play mostly sax, but have played clarinet for 47 years. My tech worked at the Selmer factory in Paris for 4 years before he started a small business. Every clarinet player I know, especially my students oil their horns. I make them...it's part of the learning process I went through when I got an R13 in 1967. Well said posts...glad to read them and I feel your frustration. Very Best Regards, Mustang
