    I tend to look at the job at hand and do a quick warmup on each instrument based on the things that might make the gig difficult.

    I think the end-to-end play (north to south) you describe is easier to work around than the "east to west" play caused by loose key barrels and oversized post holes.

    North/south play moves the key...
