    The facing makes a world of difference. If you're having trouble with volume with a .105" link then maybe your reed or facing are not appropriate. A bad facing will make you work harder than you need...

    I'm not really sure why you'd bother playing middle register notes with the palm keys. Other than the occasional trills, and creative venting for intonation/octave leaps there are far more useful...
