I was interested in a sax line that many people have mixed feelings about, and I found a website that had them listed for sale, so I decided to take a look. Low and behold, the poster "example" horn had a foot on the low C keyguard that had come de-soldered. Amazing.......How could someone put this up to show the quality of their product.

It's in the LA sax section.

I just don't get it, is he afraid he's gonna hurt someone's feelings? Why post it at all if you can't be specific? Why play games, unless you just enjoy them of course...:D.

I'm not sure what point is trying to be made, but I've had no construction issues with at least four LA Sax horns I've owned in the past, including sop, alto, tenor and baritone. If anything, I found the tenor a little too heavy for my comfort.

If the point here is that LA Sax horns are not made well because one horn had a desoldered guard foot showing on one website, I seriously dispute the contention based on my personal experience with these solidly made horns.

Another slant to the original post is that a dealer is not vigilant if he/she posts a photo of a damaged horn as an example of their product. Now that, I could buy.

That was the point I took from the original post.

I agree it is pretty dumb to post such a picture, and that the few LASAX's I've tried or owned appeared to be well built.

It's in the LA sax section.

That is true, but that kind of narrows it down to any line that LASAX/Orpheus has ever distributed...and "a website" is a little broad...;):D

speaking of dealers should know better...was that Martin Magna tenor a relacq.? I don't recall the ebay description touching on this subject of lacquer...I thought it was a weird omission.
