I have a red brass Solist alto that I have been generally pleased with, especially for the price I paid. These horns have faded from the limelight and I notice Kessler's doesn't carry them any longer. I have no complaints about my instrument, just wondering what happened to the brand. Anybody?

They still offer the curved soprano, I've considered picking one up.
Finding it is tricky, it's in Blue type heading the Soprano Sax page.
Your report is encouraging by the way, thanks.

More than likely the same horn is still being made with a different stamp on the bell. Maybe they have learned how to spell now.

funny whaler...
We decided to stop offering the Solist as the factory kept doing minor design changes meaning that the parts we stocked wouldnt work for all horns. This was specifically annoying on necks.
We also decided that we would offer a version of our Kessler Custom horns in the same price range as where the Solist horns were. I haven't put these on our site yet, but we do offer a more basic version of our Kessler Custom horns now. The Alto is $599 and the Tenor is $699.
So this way, we could keep both horn styles from the same factory that we liked the production quality and metal strength better then the Solist factory. We are also able to use alot of the same parts for both versions of our Kessler Custom horns.
Hope that answers the questions for you.
p.s. The Solist horns were always meant to be Solist - not Soloist.
