View Full Version : Conn Steelay
Just bought a custom one off E-bay from Jary . I play a Conn 10m so it should work out well it has a molded baffle with an s curve . I was useing Morgan 6L and this Steelay is .117 I'm haveing it reduced to .105-7 from .117I didn't think my chops could handle the change evenwith a softer reed I use a 3-4 reed on the 6L what do you guys think that play big tips and Conn 10m's

A big tip with such a large chamber can be hard to handle sometimes. They're good mouthpieces though, nice rubber. I prefer them unmodified though :D
Have been playing it for about 5 days feels a bit to big .110 with a nice moulded s shaped baffle.I get a big sound without being shrill I'm hopeing I can grow into it, if not I'll have to sell it .
The mpc is starting to really perform well for me except some alttisimo that I was hitting on theMorgan 6EL more practice .I think I'll get a second one eventually the sound in my opinion is rich and full , sofar the match with my 10m is heaven.
Well this mpc is eally getting better I love it , I forgot to mention a scoop bill was also added makeing very comfortable the mpc measures .110 I'm still considering a smaller tip and longer lay , when I played the Morgan I could hit 5-6 overtones on low bflat but only 4 with the new one should I give it more time?
