I help you with the how and why and what to do next in this mouthpiece issue- plus share valued concepts.
In addition- develop a concept of sound production that is resonant, free of all tension and can deal with of a great variety of tonal possibilities.
We will focus on development of the embouchure, proper use of the air, flexibility of the oral cavities, and one's own sound.By doing this, you approach a myriad of timbres. I encourage the student to explore various colors and choose what worked best in any particular situation.
My teachers <Joe Viola, Charlie Mariano, Andy McGhee, Kal Opperman, Sal Nistico > really taught me a way to make music in any style, in any situation, from a rock band to playing in a 20th Century new music ensemble, to a sax section, solo pieces.
I work to help YOU get a hands on to a individualistic approach to the saxophone, so you can express yourself musically. At any level/age.
My goals are for you, not just mastery of the concepts of sound production, but using the concepts to better convey musical ideas.
THANKS. Hit me up thru the links/website.

I see too many clients trying to get to their sound goal via gear changes as the primary tool. I think it is best to already be there via your chops and the gear just fine tunes it and makes it easier.

There are so many opportunities here on SOTW and sometimes there are completely overlooked. I'm bring this to the top just to point out, if I had a chance in my early development to get the ear of a completely experience player...
FOR $25 FREAKIN' DOLLARS!!!!
I would have jumped all over it. The amount of time I have spent finding the equipment to get the sound in my head out... I don't even want to go into it.
Tim, this is a bargain and I hope some of these members have taken advantage. If not, I'm losing faith. It's like those people who say that transcribing is too much of an effort. Some want it for free and that is still to expensive.
BTW, I have nothing to do with Tim. Have even bumped heads in the past and received a slight lashing. But I respect his playing and ability as a teacher. Do yourself a favor and get his ear on your playing, specially if you have been playing about 4-7 years and still working stuff out.

Thank you. I'm always exploring my own sounds....and know I can assist others.
I am jazz & rock & classical musician with roots in a lot of musics, and very serious about the ART of music and the future of music.
We need to work together to raise the level of music and bring hope for a future generation as well as stability for recognized masters.
I COME TO SOTW TO DEAL WITH ALL THINGS SAXOPHONE.
There is a knowledge base, that as sax players, fans and so on we ALL need to expand and be a part of. If I can help someone- HERE I AM.
I have performed, recorded, played major jazz festivals, and done TV appearances with Dept Of Good and EVil with Rachel Z, Butch Morris Conduction Orchestra,Bob Weir, Dr John, Tony Dagradi, Hans Dulfer, Claire Daly, Sue Terry,Ernie Krivda and lots of others. ALL I DO IS MUSIC, thats my job. I'm a lucky person. VERY LUCKY.
Anything I can share I will.
Peace and fortune to you all- :)
