A couple of years ago when I was playing in my high school jazz band I got a mouthpiece for jazz band. It was gray and I recall seeing 'metalite' or something like that on it. It was like an alternative to metal maybe. I got it on ebay. I haven't seen anything like it since then. I haven't seen that mouthpiece in a while either. I got a lot of compliments on my sound when I played it so I was looking for something like it or maybe another one. It may have been Rico. Does any one know anything about these? I have no idea about it.

Its a Rico Royal Metalite. Made of a very durable gray plastic. They were discontinued a couple of years ago. They show up regularly on eBay.

I recently found a few new ones in a music store I was in, so I'm sure other stores may still have some in their inventory as well.

Do you recall what size you played? M5?

It was either that or M7. I'm not sure.

I may have one of each. I loaned the M5 to a local HS, but I do not think it is in use.
