Hi saxophone-players,
Today my neighbour has brought me a saxophone to try, which he had buyed a few years ago.
It's a Dolnet, but I don't know which model. I hope you can help me with searching its name. It's number is 69047C.
I've attached some pictures:

To my eyes, I believe it is the Bel Air.

yep, confirmed! The Bel Air was not always marked as such while it was made for an incredible amount of years , probably well into the '70 even though at that point they introduced the much more modern M70 (beautiful horn I had a alto in my hands just few days ago) which took over from the Royal Jazz model which also featured improved mechanics .
Unfortunately, in order to date your horn there's no reliable SN chart anywhere since, apparently all the records got lost. Also it is not clear what the significance of the letters in the SN was. Dolnet had serial numbers comprising all their brass ad woodwinds so it is very difficult to derive a SN chart from the few kown source for any given instrument.

Ok, thank you guys! Which building date you guess? Somewhere around ...?
And can you guess what's its value?

ok, my guess, and that's what it is , a guess, is that it was made mid '60. A horn which was mechanically old fashioned by that time. Value, with such a nickname you must be from Holland. The value of these horns in the Netherlands is not very high en they go for between 300 and 1000 € which is a huge bracket but that's it! I've sold my tenor for 800€ but it had a fresh overhaul and was in pristine state. You better sell this abroad because they make potentially, more money but the dollar is very depressed now.

Hallo Michiel, the C in the serial number stands for Cartier, Cartier was a saxophone seller who ordered special saxes from Dolnet.

there are many Dolnet Horns with a C in their serial number in circulation in Holland.....don't think they were sold by any Cartier, where did you get this Cartier info if I may ask?
