why is this?

Hey everyone,
this might sound like a stupid question:
i bought two boxes of vandoren blue box size 3. when i played the first box most of them were strong(in tone) and i liked them. But the second box was thin(in tone)Why does this happen even though they were bought at the same time? Thanks.

The shop/wholesaler/importer may have mixed stock from
different batches. The cane can vary tremendously.

Time to change brands.

I stick with Francois Louis reeds which are the most consistent
reeds I have ever used.

But you don't need to switch brands, maybe just try 3.5 strength.
