A friend of mine told me about Ponzol reeds. He stated there are more good ones per box compared to some other popular brands. What's your take on Ponzol reeds.

I have had good luck with the 2 1/2 strength alto reeds. I play every day at least one hour and a reed will last at least a month if I don't mess with it. I have problems with the reed splintering at the outer edge if I don't wet them really well before I start blowing. Well worth the money.

I'm not sure I can agree about the "more usable reeds per box" statement, but they're a sturdy reed, with a good cut. They run a little strong. I just ordered a few boxes this morning from WWBW, which may be the only place to get them.

I played them on Tenor with a Link for a bit. I found them to be a lot like the Vandoren V-16s, only some were a lot better and some were a lot worse. The cane quality is the best I have ever seen though.

That's kind of like being on the golf course and hitting a fantastic drive... than taking an 8! What qualifies as "best quality cane I have seen" if it plays for crap? If they don't play how can the cane be best?
