What strength Alexander DC should I use?

I've seen a few of these threads lying around, but most of them have been pertaining to alto or soprano, and since I play tenor, and these reeds are expensive, I'm asking just to be safe ;)

I usually play either a Rico Jazz Select 3S or La Voz Mediums (Medium Hard is too hard). What strength of Alexander DCs should I use?

The DC's feel closer in cut to Vandorans than they do Ricos. That being said, if you like the Rico 3's, go with 2.5's. If you want to go with a reed that feels about a half step stiffer than what you are used to, go with the 3's.

I've got some new 2.5 strength DC's that I'm not using. Its maybe half a box unused now. If you decide you want to try them, I'd be happy to send you the unused half a box if you'd paypal me shipping costs (we'd figure it out, couldn't be more that a few bucks) + a couple of dollars. Send me a pm if you're interested -- may be a way to try the 2.5 without having to buy a whole box.

I bought this box, and then figured out that I just prefer Hemkes.

The strenght of Alexander Superial DC 2.5 (for tenor) is quite similar to that of Rico Select Jazz 3S

I went from RSJ 3S(u) to DC 2.5 and liked 'em so much that I still have several unused boxes of RSJ. ;) (I buy my reeds in BULK)

I use DC 3 for my Houlik or Morgan/Zentera (.088) classical mouthpieces.

I find the DCs less buzzy. But I also find the DC #3 about the same strength as RJS 3S. So maybe it's difficult to generalize about reeds.
