I've been playing Hemke's for just a little while now, and bought some off ebay. When they came the box is different -- grey, rather than the white I'm used to. In fairness, the picture on the ebay add showed a grey box, I just didn't notice it until I got them and they looked different and I double-checked.
The reeds look like they may be old (unused, but old), but I can't tell yet (haven't tried them yet). Anyone know when Hemke switched the box? I'm worried I may have bought some fossils, here....

Don't know when, but I still see the older boxes on the shelf for soprano.

Been using them on the alto for over a couple of years and on the bari for over a couple of months. Box has always been silverish grey and still is. Maybe in France we only get old stock reeds:TGNCHK:
P.S. haven't bought a box since june but need some shortly so I'll keep an eye open for colour changes;)

My brother used to play Hemke reeds on bari, and they always came in a Silver-gray box. This was only a year or two ago.
BTW, reeds don't really go bad. I have an old (brown) box of Rico #4 bari reeds that I use with my teacher's HR Link 6* for some nice classical tones. Dark and sweet with a reedy complexity that I find is usually missing when I play dark mouthpieces on bari.
