I ordered one, and it is the most overpriced sax-related item I've ever seen in my life. It is not even durable. It's made of a horrible rubber. There are already small tears after I tried to shove it into my thumb rest. Over 5 dollars for this, Man, What was I thinking.

I've got no problem with my thumbrest, but I imagine if you want to surround it in rubber, you could use that stuff for tools.

Yeah, I don't like the runyon rhumbrests at all. My favorite is the thumbeeze. Its just a dollar or two at stores, and it's a big black square of spongy material. It stretches over and you might have to force it on at first, but it stays put. Beats out the runyons in comfort and price. The runyons seem to hurt my thumb more than the thumbrest itself.

I'm about to try some epoxy to make the thumb hook on my vintage soprano more flat than convex and then use PlastiCoat (stuff for tool handles) over the epoxy. I've tried shaping a better thumb hook out of brass that I could solder on but never got the shape right.
