Hello everyone! I am considering a new soprano case and came across this one. I did a search on this one in this forum but did not find any info. I have been told it is new for this year. It will cost me $350.00. What do you think? Do these provide good protection and are they worth the $$$? I could not find any information on them and when checking with Selmer I do not see it listed. I have also been told they are made by BAM. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You can get a Protec a lot cheaper;http://www.music123.com/Pro-Tec-Standard-Soprano-Sax-PRO-PAC-Case-540699-i1151248.Music123

The Protec is a wood shell with a cordura or nylon cover, I believe, so I would think it would be strong.

Selmer Light is made by Bam. You are paying more for the better styling, Selmer name, crappy Dollar to Euro , and somewhat lighter weight construction. Protec will probably function just as well, just not look as cool. My Bam alto case has a rain poncho in the back which saved my butt several times during storms.

I have a protec for my soprano and I find that the sax rolls around a bit inside, so I'm not really happy with it. I'd spend the extra money so you know your sax is secure.

I'd give Dillon Music a call, 732-582-4634, or go on line:

The DEG cases look like a decent value.
I went on line looking for an Eastman case:

but Dillon's only listed their Alto and Tenor cases. If you call, I suspect they'll get you a soprano case. The Eastman gives good protection and is very compact. Assuming you carry your own horn, they're great for gigs. Its a molded fiberglass hard case, available in several different colors. I really like mine.

I'm interested in the same case. Has anyone found a place that stocks it yet? Seems that everyone still has the old models.
Also, do you know if it comes in a model that fits the Series II - fixed neck soprano?

Tenor Madness stocks these. I've had a good look at them there--very high-quality, light, typical BAM construction.

I think I am going to make the purchase on this. Has anyone purchased one yet? Or have any info?

I have one that came with my new alto. I recommend it highly and am thinking of buying one for my soprano. Best of luck with the new case!
