Stolen Conn 10M

Hi,
Bought a Conn 10 M Tenor online from the SOW sales site - US seller.
The Guy I bought it from says he posted it ( can't prove it) and as yet until I get the full story wont ID him.
Anyway assuming it was posted it has not arrived in Australia after 8 months.
If Anyone out there comes across this 10M let me know - Serial 277758 -:cry:

this might be a good time to discuss safe ways to insure transactions like this don't go afoul. anyone know about any safe guards?

Who was it? This is the first time I've ever heard of a transaction on SOTW going wrong. It's usually very safe, much better than ebay.

The Seller was legit. We have been in communication and sussed things out and he has been able to obtain an insurance refund for me. Looks like it was posted and the USPS number is available. Seems like the theft was during postage. :(

Normally claims with the US Post are resolved much quicker then 8 months. I know this from experience. I had a problem on an internations shipment and 30 days past they allowed me to file and three weeks later I had a refund.

Yes - USPS has apparently OK'd the claim but I didn't file until about 6 weeks ago as it was sent surface mail. Can take up to 5 to 6 months to reach Oz from US. I gather now surface mail has been retired and all those items are now sent ecoomy air.
