Is anyone going to see Sonny Rollins Wednesday August 6th in Central Park?
I'm thinking of going, but I'm not sure yet. My wife and I have a brand new baby (1 week old) at home so it might be tough for me to get out. I bet it will be a great show.

No, but I'm going to see Sonny at the Newport Jazz Festival on Sunday, August 10:D.

BTW, Congrats on the new addition!

I am going to see him in Berlin in December :-) I am looking very much forward to it. Has anybody heard him recently?

I'm working that night and can't make it, but just knowing he'll be out there will be inspiring. And more congratulations on the baby.

I am, but not on tenor. I'll be at Iridium with tenor-man Todd Herbert. I'm on bass with Anthony Wonsey on piano and Jason Brown on drums. Todd's doing a record release party, and Dwayne Burno, who's on the record, can't make it the gig, so I got the call.

I planned on seeing (hearing) this, but our New baby (10 days sunday) has an infection that started with a high temp (102.9) and has been in the hospital since Sunday night.
He is doing much better and should be back home tomorrow, or Thursday. Anyway I'm going to miss this. Sonny in Central Park seems like a once in a lifetime event. If anyone checks this out (and you should) report back. Thanks.
