I'll try not to pontificate or lay down the BS. I had a soprano already that I couldn't play well (AW older style with old Mk VI keywork). The new horn has modern keywork and I can get around it much, much more comfortably. The Kessler is hands down more in tune than any other sop I've played and the set up was great. I bought this horn from Kessler because Dave and his father have earned my business over and again. I bought the horn because the pricing was good AND because it's really purty... I know the engraveing doesn't make it sound any better, but it's a lot nicer to look at when I stop to catch my wind...:D. Thanks Dave, Chuck and all the techs that work at Kessler Music for making this a fun and easy decision.

Congrats on making a wise choice! I'm amazed at what a great value the Kessler sops are for the money!:)

Congratulations! Thanks for the input. Did you try the horn before purchase or did you just order it? I have been wanting to try the Kesslers but haven't made it over to LV recently.

Noj,
I just ordered it. Dave Kessler has a fairly liberal return policy for trying out the instruments and the initial shipping was free. I kept thinking I'd drive up to LV, but every time I hit the gas station I decided to let UPS do the driving. Still, I wasn't disappointed with my purchase. I got the plain old laquered version of the horn, but it never goes out of style. I could have save a few bucks by getting the Custom rather than the Custom Deluxe, but since I didn't spend it on gas, I spent it on GAS.

It ain't bragg'n, pontificat'n, or BS'n if'n its the truth!!

Congrats on the horn and the transaction. The Kesslers are the real deal.
They've hit on a unique business model - quality products and service. Who'd a thunk it??

Thanks for the reply. I have never looked into Kesslers return policy but it sounds like it is more than fair. My wife and I both have relatives in LV so we get over there from time to time. The next time we go I will stop by Kesslers and check out their horns. Thanks again for the post and have fun with your new horn.

By the way, I agree that spending money on saxophone GAS is much more fun than spending it on petrol GAS! How many horns is too many???

I currently have 7 (3 tenors, 3 altos and a bari, wow, I thought I only had six!!!) and my wife says "no more". If another comes into the house, one must leave. Do you think she would notice a wee little soprano??

Unfortunately the UPS guy usually comes when you're at work and she answers the door. I got her ready by showing her quinntheeskimo's store on ebay! Look hon it only costs a few hundred bucks and it's NEW!!! Quiet a deal, huh?

Sounds like you have worked it all out. The last horn I bought I didn't tell her anything and when it showed up I had a bit of "Splaining" to do. However she was very impressed with the gold plate finish and actually wanted to learn to play it, that only lasted about one week though. I was thinking I was home free if she liked playing, Unlimited saxophones!!! Oh well.

I think you misunderstood her...she meant if another sax comes into the house, one (meaning you) must go! Why don't you sneak the soprano in by hiding it in the front of your pants....but don't be shocked if she says "is that a soprano in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

I don't think she would notice since I am always happy to see her.

Glad to hear you like the horn.

BTW, I think you meant Chuck when you put Carl. No Carl has ever worked for our company. Chuck is my father and Steve is the other sax technician.

Sorry Dave, my bad. I went to high school with a kid named Carl Kessler and my "C" names got cross wired. That's not the worst that's happened by a long stretch. My apologies to your dad.
I've repaired that "senior moment".
