Aimed at C-Melody users mostly.
I am very interested in the Codera Strap. Visually it seems to be able to adjust in such various combinations that ONE, at least should work on my C-Melody, where three others and a harness have not done so. Please, I don't need the stock reply: "Look up the threads" :? What I need is knowledgeable answers from users and others who have tried it and did not like it.
How many use it?
How many tried it and did not like it? Why?
Yes, I know it is a bit pricy, but it is less than then Brancher and seems to have been designed with more thought behind it., IMHO.

Hi Bassclarinet,
i use the strap for all my saxophones and i simply love it! I also use the Codera Balancer and i would never ever play a sax without it again.
The strap is great, you have a lot of possibilities to chance the lengh. I have a "s" and a "l" strap, wich i can click in. With the "s" strap i play my Soprano, with the "m" strap i play all my other saxes. The padded cushion in the neck is very comfortable. It is pretty thick and well padded. That way my neck does not hurt anymore. You can take the cushion of and wash it or replace it, if it would ever be torn. The quality of the material is very good. I can highly recommand this strap. I know that it is not cheap, but in my eyes it is worth every cent of it!
By the way, check out the balancer, this is realy some invention. I had a lot of problems with my right thumb. Since i use the balancer, you donīt need the thumb at all. I donīt know how he does it, but it is unbelievable. I have one on every sax of mine, whenever i play a sax without a Balancer my thumb hurts after a little while playing.
But you can also change the way your sax sounds with it, since it will change the angle of your moutpiece. My lower keys blow easier depending on the way i have it adjusted. If you ever get the chance to try this little wonder, do it!

Hi Mo, thanks for the good report. I just ordered from Al and he said that the ADDbalancer is no longer available. I don't know if that means it is off the market or if they have run out of them. I hope them make them available again as it sounded like an answer for lots of folk.
Where in Germany? I was in Ramstein for a while at USAFE HQ (and lived in Waldmohr near "K'town.")

Hi Bassclarinet,
if you cannot get the balancer in the states,i could get it for you here in Germany. You could send me the money and the postal charges via paypal. So that would be no problem.
Iīm from Cologne, the most beautiful city in Germany
So, if you need anything just let me know!

Mo, thanks. How much do the balancers cost?
All I know about Cologne is that the City is indeed beautiful, the Cathedral is magnificient, the wine excellent and the Autobahn is patroled by some of the hottest police cars that have ever run me down in my Merc.

Hi,
the balancer costs over here 62,64 .

Itīs the one with the universaladapter that should fit every sax. But i try to figure out, where you can purchase it in the states. Give me a little time. There must be a dealer that has it. If not, and you want it, no problem :D .
By the way, i was in Iowa but that is a long time ago. I stayed in the Des Moin area. We were there over x-mas. I never froze that much in my life. It is unbelievable how cold it gets there. Here in Cologne, we donīt have these temepratures.
Which strap did you get? I gut the flixible one. Could you try the straps, i mean so that you can figure out the right ones for you?
By the way i have a real beautiful Conn C-Melody straight neck. Right now i started to overhaul it. This one is realy a beauty! I had a Holton C-Mel before, this one was very good too. I had my problems with the Holton and the straps, so i went to a shop got some screw etc. and made an extension. I send you the link, maybe that will work for you too.

I am pleased to report that I now have a combination strap on it's way from Al and will let you know how it works on my C-Melody, Bass Clarinet and Alto clarinet.
I have located and ordered a ADDjust Balancer in the UK at <www,saxophones.co.uk> and email at <help@saxophones.co.uk>
In theory (they say it was shipped) it was 32.86 British Pounds, NOT EUROS.
I will report on all this when it is a "bird in the hand" and tried out.

My Cordera strap(s) arrived today from Al and from a quick try they are allgoing to work out ok on my Alto Clarinet/Bass Clairnet [Double Hook, medium and Extra Long) and the separate Single Hook X-Long is ideal on my Bass Clarinet by it'self. Still struggling with right hand positions and a problem with the mpc pitch/angle but the ADDjust Balancer should straighten all that out. I hope. More later.javascript:emoticon('')

Hi Bassclarinet,
glad you got your strap and extremly glad you could order the balancer cheaper than in Germany!
I think the Balancer will help you indeed with the angel of the mouthpiece. Looking forward to your report.

hello mosplace could you please contact me
thanks, newking70@yahoo.com
You mentioned, bassclarinet, back in January of '04 that you had just received a Codera Addjust Balancer.
Now that nearly two years have passed, is your impression positive or what? I am trying to get one so would value your opinion.
Thanks
