I have a vintage HR tenor Berg, 90/3 refaced to .094" by Jon Van Wie. Excellent mouthpiece, great volume, good intonation although it's a little on the edgy side. It's a very versatile piece.
I have a couple tenor and an alto. All are nice, strong pieces. I like the 2 facing for a nice combo of darkness, edge and projection. I did have an old tenor piece that looked great but played like c**p, so there are no guarantees-play before you buy if possible. Jey Clark at www.4winds.com has a bunch and a good trial period.
My tenor 95/2/M also works great on my straight neck Conn C-Melody, decent intonation and lots of guts.[/url]
sorry, that's www.4windsmusic.com

I don't think Bergs come from the factory larger than 130.

If by "vintage" Berg Larsen, you mean mpcs made prior to the mid-'90's, the 140 was a standard catalog size in tenor mpcs from the late '40's until the change to cast mpcs made when J.J. Babbitt bought the Berg Company in 1994 (and which was resold in 1999 to the current owners). Of course, like all Bergs, the actual tip openings were usually circa 0.005" to 0.010" closer than the markings indicated. I played a corrected 140/0 stainless steel tenor I bought in 1952 for many years and still have a corrected 135/1 for sale if you're interested.
