I have the Otto Link HR Tone Edge 7 and to anyone who has it, which reed is best suited for it?
I've tried Vandora ZZ's and the traditional blue box and they are good but I'm looking for something else..something more jazzy maybe
Thanks

(Oh, and does anyone know where Jean Baptiste saxes are made?)

Welcome to SOTW.

IMO, reed selection for any mouthpiece is an individual choice. It depends on what sound you are trying to achieve and how well developed your embouchure is.

The Link HR 7 has a fairly middle ground opening that I've found, for me, works best with 2-1/2 to 3 cane reeds, usually Rico Royals, or even Rico Orange box reeds carefully selected.

As for Jean Baptiste saxes, I'm fairly sure they're made in Taiwan, but a lot of sax production is migrating to the Shanghai area of China, and I'm hearing of even some going to Vietnam, so I can't be sure.

Good ole Rico Royal 2.5s do the trick for me.

I use Gonzalez 2.5 or LaVoz MH. The LaVoz has a somewhat brighter sound than the Gonzo.

After trying a lot over a couple of years, I settled down with Rico Royals 2.5 or 3s.

Almost any reed will work on a Tone Edge.

That being said, a Rico Royal is a very traditional match. I think vandoren traditionals work quite well too. I use Rigotti Golds on mine.

Regarding something more 'jazzy', that comes from you. The reed doesn't know what type of music you are playing.

Good luck.

I've also tried Plasticovers with this mouthpiece, they seem good

I loved Plasticovers when I had my tone edge.

My Tone Edge is VERY easy to please with regard to reeds. I personally like the Vandoren Blue box; but, I've had Alexander DC's that it loved as well as Alexander Classiques that it loved. The Classiques, believe it or not had the most buzz to them if you're looking for that type of color to your sound. I ended up sticking with the Blue Box because every store I've ever been in had them and I wanted that convenience. I'm sure the Rico's are the same in that regard. good luck
Remember, once you have your setup. You have your setup. Explore that

and what are orange box ricos? You probably found out by now, but "orange box" Ricos are the standard baseline reed in the Rico family. Once in awhile you run across even more vintage Ricos in brown boxes made to look like wood.

Rico Royals come in a light blue box and are supposed to be a step up in quality and have their markings on the top of the reed whereas the orange box Ricos are marked on the bottom. I honestly can't tell much difference between the two, but I'm not very picky when it gets to that level.

Vandorens are another reed family that come in a variety of styles and box colors like traditional dark blue boxes, green ZZ and Java boxes, etc.

You also asked if most stores carry Gonzales reeds. Don't forget there are excellent internet sources for reeds such as 1stopclarinet.com and discountreeds.com, if you don't mind waiting a few days to get you reeds.

i use the same reeds as my DG Alexander DC 3 1/2 just be careful where you order them from there seems to be some bad batches out there!

I have tried mine with Vandoren Java 3, nice bright-er sound. With Rico Jazz select 3 (soft) filed, very dark, lovely sound these reeds are actually wider than the mpc which makes them slightly more resistant but what a tone!

I agree with Milandro's comment about Rico Select Jazz 3S.

I tried the Legere reeds but they are brighter than I want the RSJ 3S are perfect.

Have Fun
