reed trouble-please help

i need reed suggestions for jazz reeds. i play on a eugene rousseau jdx 7 mpc and have been using vandoren javas(AA) 2 1/2. they are very bright reeds and i am looking for a darker, warmer sound that will still stand out. my classical reeds are hemkes and they are terrible of the ER mpc.

You might try some Alexander Superial DC's from 1stop.

What other reeds have you tried?

I kind of like Vandoren Classics.

Try the Blue Box Vandoren reeds for a much darker sound, or the V16s for a marginally darker one.

Second the Blue Box Vandorens. #2 should be a close match to your 2-1/2 Javas but you might also try 2-1/2 just to see how it works.
