I've decided on getting a Hiscox for my Series II alto, and noticed that there is a "new and improved" II with a 30% thicker shell.

For those of you recommending the Hiscox in the past, do you have the I or the II, or does anyone have experience specifically with the II? Since new and improved isn't always, does anyone know of manufacturing shortcuts with the new design?

Any Selmer Series II users using the Hiscox II and want to share experiences?

Thanks

The "pro-II" cases are slightly thicker, have stronger catches and a couple of other features. I don't think they're that new though, been around here for a couple of years now.

I can't see that Hiscox would start taking shortcuts - the quality seems very high and consistent.

Infact, I've only known one person to damage one - that was an old Pro tenor case. But my old standard case survived a car crash and has come off my bike a few times so I can't see how he managed it (probably dropped something heavy on it :?)
