Cant find any other word to describe it.
Even the 4CM custom mouthpiece (original) sounds sweet, too bad it is very closed opening...looking to open it up a bit... I pair it with a soloist G, it is a killer! Waiting on that mouthpiececafe slant sig (jerry b) to finish, boy I am curious...
Dollar to dollar it is much much better in value than the soexpensivemark 6 and soundwise, it is in par if not better.

I have had mine for about a year and a half and I love it more everyday.
I hope you enjoy it!

What is WOF; "without finish"?

WOF stands without High F# key.

it should be WOF#......without the high F# key.
Some say the tonehole placement interrupts the air coming into the horn, some say the reduced weight (by removing the keywork) allows the horn to vibrate freely. I'm not sure what the reason is, but I playtested against VI's, a few different Z variants, and this was the best of the bunch.

Did you test it against a regular 82z and a 82zul?

I did. The question I always ask myself is..."Is this horn great b/c of the UL, the no F#, the coffee maker, whatever....or is it great b/c it is just a great horn out of the bunch?" It is hard to tell.
The UL w/o F#, outplayed every horn I tried. The reason, who knows...and who cares. I love the horn, I guess that is all that matters. That is why I agree with everyone on SOTW, you need to try before you buy.
The UL w/o F# was just more of what I wanted. It was more resonant and had a fatter sound (yes on a Yamaha) than the laquered w/ F#. (At least for me, it could be different for you ;) )

yes I tried the new ones from shops
first I liked the reg lacq it sounds a bit warmer but after playing the UL I like it more because i can feel the power =) maybe not much but still...
then i found 1 2nd hand for sale and without F# key (high) and I am even more impressed. The sound is louder(is that the word to describe it? Pardon my english)
the other reason is the finish (ul) looks good after few years =)
It is the best
