I found a guy not too far from me that is selling a Unison alto sax. Approx 7 years old and only played about a year by his son and in very good cosmetic condition. It is all gold-lacquer colored, but he did not remember seeing a model number.

How do I identify this Unison (5002, 7002, maybe a S300)? From the limited number of threads here on this brand it looks like it has potential to be a good entry sax for my son? Anything else I should specifically look for, or model(s) to avoid? Thanks in advance!

My son owns an SG300 and it is an excellent sax - way beyond a Yamaha 23. I bought it for myself about 7 years ago and passed it down to him last year when I got my yani. I am not sure how to identify the model, but if it is a 300 series in good shape it will make a good intermediate horn.
