Does anyone have a link/thread describing the history of Link 'pieces? It'd be interesting to know the differences between say, a Florida slant-signature and a non-Florida one.Thanks.

Theo Wanne's Saxophone Mouthpiece Heaven site has histories of several mouthpiece brands. The Otto Link history is at

Thanks, Gregg - an enjoyable textual-visual history of THE classic. Now I want more 'pieces, though....

I've been to the mouthpiece heaven website and many posts in this section, but still am unsure if I have a Florida Link or some type of transitional piece. Can someone help?

My mouthpiece is gold colored. It is labelled "Super" TONE MASTER between two lines on the neck. Just above the neck on the right side of the table is the number 7. There is no serial number and no USA stamp. The ligature is stamped with an L on the screw.

It has what I would describe as a dark throaty sound. It came with a horn that was of early 1970's vintage and I believe the mouthpiece was originally purchased when the horn was new.

Thanks for any feedback.
