Has anyone tried one of these yet?
I bought a Hiscox for alto, and find that I need more room for 'stuff'.
How do they compare to the BAM trekking, which it appears they were modeled after?

Hi Mark, the woodwind and brasswind sells both the Bam Trekking and the Protec Extreme Case. These are similarly designed at least in outward appearance. You can order both of these from the woodwind and brasswind and then compare and return one or both after you have had a chance to see them side-by-side. Obviously, the BAM is about twice the price of the Protec. As you know, I have the BAM Trekking and I am very satisfied with it. I considered the contoured case, but again internal storage is an issue, although the base structure and padding was fine.

The Hiscox is such a great case (and in great condition too!!!! thanks again) that I hate to think of not using it. Maybe I need to re-think how much stuff I need to carry. Right now I'm having to put the neck in the bell, and I hate doing that.

You know, at first I didn't like putting the neck in the bell myself, it just seemed wrong. But, the more I though about it, the more I realized there is this big unused volume of airspace inside the bell that might as well serve some purpose. So, I bought Kiwi neck bags, and in they went.

if you need more room do what i do. attach a camera bag or small womens purse to the shoulder strap for your reeds and mpcs etc
