Sound absorber

Anyone know of some sound absorbant material I could install on my ceilings to completely block the sound of the saxophone from ascending to the upstairs neighbors??

Yes. Rammed ash. I have seen this in old (1790) houses in the UK, and it makes a very effective sound barrier, > 50dB floor to floor.

Major drawbacks: It can only be fitted from above, and if you get a leaky pipe the mess is indescribable.
