Hello! I was wondering if anyone had an unacompanied Alto Sax solo by Debussy that they could perhaps E-mail me, or suggest a place to find one? Im doing a report on him in French class, and I would like to perform a piece for the class. (Hopefully for some Extra Credit =D) But anyway, if you could get back to me that would be great!

Fantastic idea FoxyFineKng! I just did the same thing, in fact, just yesterday! (although I didn't get any extra credit) I played Paul Bonneau's Caprice en forme de valse for my French class. Consider playing Debussy's Syrinx. It's for solo flute but works well on saxophone too! Bonne Chance!

I should do this kind of stuff...my french teacher gives out extra credit left and right...but I never seem to stumble upon it.

Does anyone know where one might actually order the piece, "Syrinx", by Debussy (the one arranged by Londeix)? I've searched catalogues from vendors all over the net (including sheetmusicplus, pepper, vandoren, and eblemusic), yet to no avail. I'm beginning to wonder if this piece actually exists.

There is a free version available for clarinet here..

Cant you just copy it out and transpose it for alto?

I heard someone`s version for alto recently on here, it was a myspace link in the classical recordings thread in the classical sax section, the first note was C# above the stave as I remember, shouldn`t be hard to work out where to place it anyway, just make sure you can get all the notes within the alto`s range, stating the obvious I suppose.

Dorn Publications. Along with Eble, use it often.
