I've been looking at the yamaha yts-475 tenor and the yts-52. The 52 was replaced by the yts-475. What's the difference? I also want to know about the difference for the 61, 62 and 62II. Also the Allegro models if anyone knows.

Thanks!

Sorry about the double post, i'm new to this forum.

you double posted; and they just decided to add new stuff, like all businesses they keep making "new" products to get money.

I like the 62IIs. Here's some more information for you about the differences:

I'm also interested in hearing about the Allegro models, specifically the alto 575AL. Anybody have one here?

I had emailed Yamaha earlier, and just received this response to my question regarding the Allegro models. (I was asking about Alto, but should hold true to tenor as well)

I asked if the 575AL was more comparable to the 52 or the 62 series:

"The YAS-575AL is actually more comparable to the YAS-62II model. The main difference in the two is the bell, which for the 575AL is standard construction and for the 62II is annealed (a process that adds strength to the metal). The Allegro line of instruments was first introduced in 2002.

Then I asked if it was considered and intermediate or professional-level horn:
"I think I'd have to group it more closely with the professional level horns than the intermediate ones. The materials are too different from the 475 (the current intermediate model).

Hope this helps
