I"m looking for a GOOD tech in the amsterdam area. I've had my sax repaired/adjusted by 2 different techs and it's still not in good playing order. It's getting a bit frustrating.

I've had good experiences with Jeffrey Bakker in Muiderberg and Matthew from Matthew's Musical instruments in Edam.
The better you're able to pinpoint your problem, the quicker they can fix it.

OK, there are many technicians in Amsterdam. I would, generally speaking, stay away from a couple of shops, they have technicians but they are very rough and quick and not particularly competent.
It would be nice to know..... where have you brought your horn and what was the nature of the problem?
Let me give you a few names (some already mentioned)
Nico Bodewes
Frits de Wit
Amsterdam winds (this is a shop but they do mainly repairs)
Matthew's in Edam (not far away from A'dam, this is also a shop but they do lots of repairs too, many technicians have started their career here they all speak great English-who doesn't in A'dam?- because the shop owner is American)
Then you have a number of cheaper technicians , not necessarily bad.
Tim Brennan in Haarlem is good, cheap and honest (he too speaks great English, well .....as good English as Americans do....;) :) )

Hey wow, i didn't know there were so many replies here. Thanks. Anyway since i first posted this GAS has taken over. I went up to Matthews one fine day and got to know them a bit, then went back a few weeks later and bought a sax from them. Then went back again a few weeks later with my old sax and the sax i bought from them. And not only did Max fiddle with the sax i bought from them, he also spent an hour on my other sax and didn't even want to charge me for the time. Now i recently bought an old Conn which i will need to have revised soon (plays great but has a few very old pads and the whole sax is a bit on the yucky side) and i guess the obvious thing to do would be to take it to them too. What do y'all think of that? Is that an idea?

Matthew, the son of David Crane, is probably the person who took care of your horn. He is a great guy and always does that! ;) good and friendly place....say hallo from me when you take your Conn to them! :)
