I知 trying to forge a saxophone quartet [SATB], out of the top sax players at my school. Two of us, myself included, have earned state auditions and the others I have in mind are top-notch players, for our level.

My question was what are some good pieces for performance and what are some good pieces to help us find our group sound and learn to work as one. Any advice for working in a quartet would be greatly appreciated. Oh and our main focus is classical, but being a major jazz enthusiast we値l probably venture into that as well.

I'd check out Dorn publishing. Their home page is at; www.dornpub.com The link below will take you right to the saxophone sheet music section.

Warren Barker -Divertimento
Orlando Gibbons (arr Hemke) Fantazia
Gershwin -Rialto Ripples Rag
Jack End -Two Modern Quartets (AATB)

These should be good things to sink your teeth into.
